Cycling is a sport practiced worldwide. Events and competitions are held every year in various cities or countries of the world. One of the most famous competitions is called the Tour de France, held in France where participants from all around the world race through the entire country in 23 days, making several stops at different cities. Only the best cyclists get to compete and they can only do so by being invited by the race organizers.

Cycling is not only a sport, but also a form of transportation or a way of life. Many people, especially in poorer countries use bicycles as a way to get from one point to another. Habitants in third-world countries cannot afford a vehicle like most people do in highly developed countries, such as the United States, so they utilize a bicycle to go to work, to do their daily errands, or they use them for business to sell or transport products. Using a bicycle, instead of a gas-fueled vehicle saves money, helps conserve the environment, and provides a good exercise since it requires human energy to make the bicycle move and advance.
